Painting on Wood and More


7 1/4" x 18" Wood Pumpkin acrylic painting. Edges are antiqued with oil paint. Base painting, float shading and stenciling were taught. Completed with a raffia bow.



18" x 24" stretched canvas acrylic painting. We discussed warm and cool colors. Students chose if they wanted their painting to be predominately warm or cool. Canvas gel medium was added to paint to extend open time for blending.



Acrylic painting on papier maché scrapbook. Color choices varied. 3-Dimensional stickers were added as embellishments. Scrapbook can hold photos of the student's future projects.



Wood cutout of scarecrow. Student's could choose their own colors. Dry brushing and float shading created depth and highlights.



"Snow" wood cutout. Students chose color scheme. Snow tex was added at the end for a "snowy" effect. Embellishments were glued on later.



Snow man note pad holder cut out of wood.Saw tooth hanger on back. Students learned how to base paint and floatshade.



12" x 19" wood folk art wall hanging. Special techniques included dry brushing, stenciling, filbert brush and blending wet-on-wet.
